Celine Lam is a Singaporean pianist and educator with a background spanning performance, piano pedagogy and higher music education. She holds a Master of Music (Performance) with Distinction from the University of Queensland, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music and Diploma in Music from LASALLE College of the Arts, specialising in Classical Piano.

She currently teaches piano at LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Raffles Music College, where her work includes tertiary-level piano instruction, performance preparation and research supervision. Alongside her institutional teaching, she maintains a private piano studio and has taught more than 100 students across private, music school and tertiary settings.

​

At LASALLE, she have been involved in the improvisation section at the recent LASALLE Piano Voyage: The Night of the Opera 2021. She performed and collaborated with dancers at the LASALLE Piano Voyage: Musical Reflection and Chopin Music and Dance Collaboration featuring Polish choreographer, Maria Stoklosa in 2020. She has also performed a duet at the Valentine's Day Concert @ Esplanade Library in the same year.

Teaching & Academic Work

Celine's teaching experience spans private studios, music schools and higher education. She works with students across a range of levels, from developing pianists to diploma and degree-level musicians, with an emphasis on technical development, repertoire interpretation, musicianship and performance preparation.

At tertiary level, her work includes one-to-one piano instruction, assessing undergraduate performances and examinations, and supervising undergraduate music research. Her postgraduate studies also developed her interests in music pedagogy, including approaches to teaching composition and the psychology of musical performance.

Beyond regular lessons, Celine has created performance opportunities for her own students. In 2023, she organised and directed the Young Musicians Festival at the National Library, bringing together 20 students for a public recital designed to develop confidence and performance experience.

Collaborative & Professional Experience

Celine has worked as an accompanist for instrumentalists, singers, choirs and ensembles. She served as Official Accompanist for the Emmanuel College Choir Fest (2025), supporting a full choral programme through rehearsals and performance, and has accompanied candidates for ABRSM Violin Graded Examinations.

Her professional work also includes adjudicating and assessing student performances, alongside interdisciplinary collaborations involving music and dance.

Recognition & Awards

Celine has received recognition in competitions, including Notable Performer at the Manhattan International Music Competition (2022) and Silver Award at the Asia Arts Festival (2022). She was also a finalist at the 6th Overseas Performers Festival (2022) and Singapore International Piano & Violin Competition (2022).
